Maxpedition
Versipack Jumbo
I
needed something relatively unobtrusive to carry gear in on my seemingly
ever-frequent trips to the city for meetings. I decided on a Maxpedition
Versipack Jumbo. I bought it the last time I was in the city.
After about a month of fooling with it, I'm very impressed.
It's very comfortable to carry, both walking and riding my bike. It stays in
place and doesn't throw me off balance.
Here are the contents so far, but this is by no means static and I still have a
lot of fine tuning to do contents wise.
I was going to just use this for going to the city, but with a change in
contents it would be great for hunting, too.
As a matter of fact, I like the way it carries so much that I've decided to get
one to replace the butt pack I carry on short day hunts. It's much more
comfortable than a fanny pack.

21 – 6 led AA flashlight
22 – Can of tuna and vegetables
Not numbered (you can just see it behind the paracord) is a roll of Choglan's camper's toilet paper.
Being a city carry bag I could probably do without the tinder and ferro rod, but
I feel weird having a kit without one.
Not shown is a mini Bic lighter and a few feet of duct tape.
I've since changed out the water bottle for an Aquamira filter bottle.
I
bought one of these filter bottles for each member of the family.
What I like about them is that it's simple to remove the filter and use it as a
regular water bottle. I just keep the filter in a zip lock bag in the pack
and use it for filtering suspect water.

An odd thing about the pack. It's
actually made for right side carry but it works better for me on the left side.
It just feels more comfortable.
I'm glad I bought it in-store and didn't order it online because being
left-handed I'd have ordered the VersipackS which is intended for left side
carry and I wouldn't have been happy with the way it carried.
